The Jaramana Camp witnessed a sudden fire yesterday in a house located at the entrance of the camp from the direction of the Palestinian Liberation Army's Rahba.
The fire that broke out on Friday evening due to an electrical short circuit in the house of the young man Riyad Hassan Qassem, who suffers from paralysis in the lower part of his body, led to his hospitalization, but he died due to severe burns caused by the flames, while extensive damage was caused to the house.
When firefighting teams arrived at the scene, they faced difficulty in controlling the flames. Reports indicate the possibility of damage due to a gas leak or an electrical short circuit; however, the exact causes have not yet been determined.
Later, activists warned of the increase in fires in Palestinian refugee camps due to several reasons, including electricity being supplied at night, electrical short circuits, or the explosion of household gas cylinders due to leaks or
wear
The camp residents are experiencing a state of anxiety due to the lack of services, security measures, and protection against such incidents, as well as the guarantee of the safety of their belongings.
