Palestinians shine in an athletics championship in Aleppo. Two golds and three silvers

In a new achievement added to the record of Palestinian sports in Syria, Palestinian students achieved remarkable results in the school athletics championship at the level of Aleppo Governorate, where they managed to win two gold medals and three silver medals.

The championship witnessed strong competition among the participants, but the Palestinian students managed to assert their dominance in many games, excelling in the jumping, running, and shot put events.

The championship, which was sponsored by the Syrian Sports Federation, took place at the Youth Care Stadium in Aleppo over the course of a week. It included boys and girls from the first and second stages of basic education, as well as secondary education, with the participation of more than 170 male and female students from 25 schools.

According to our reportet in northern Syria, the Palestinian student "Khaled Al-Jad'aa" secured the first place at the level of schools in Aleppo Governorate in athletics (long jump - Running 100m, 200m, 400m).

For their part, the education program officials at UNRWA in Syria stated that the idea of participating in the school athletics championship at the level of Aleppo Governorate was proposed by the head of the education department, Mohamed Rafea, with the support of the director of the northern region, Mervat Abu Rasheed, and in cooperation and coordination with school principals, psychological support providers, sports teachers, and volunteers Shadi Shreih and Mona Al-Tawil to train the students and select participants to represent UNRWA schools in this league.

The program official added that UNRWA students in the schools of Akka, Jaffa, and Nasir al-Din participated in the athletics championship, winning two gold medals, three silver medals, and advanced positions in jumping, running, and shot put.
