Aleppo | Action Group
The reporter for the Action Group for Palestinians in Syria reported that the Syrian opposition forces released dozens of detainees from the Syrian security forces' prisons in the city of Aleppo, among them Palestinian refugees. The reporter confirmed the release of a number of Palestinian refugees, among the identified names: Adnan Al-Sayed, Ahmad Nakhash, Muhammad Qudsiyah, and Arafat Mashour.
These developments come on the fourth day of the "Deterrence of Aggression" operation, launched by the Syrian opposition factions, which continued their rapid advance in the Idlib and Aleppo governorates on Saturday.
Field reports indicated the withdrawal of Syrian regime forces from several strategic positions in the Aleppo and Idlib countryside, while Russian aircraft launched airstrikes on opposition positions for the first time since 2016.
For its part, the Syrian regime's army acknowledged the killing and wounding of dozens of its personnel during the fierce battles with opposition factions in Aleppo and Idlib, indicating that the temporary withdrawal of its forces from some positions aims to prepare for a counterattack.
The opposition factions managed, on Saturday morning, to seize control of no less than 850 square kilometers in the two provinces, as part of their ongoing advance in the region.
