The Action Group for Palestinians in Syria congratulates the Syrian and Palestinian people in Syria on the fall of the Syrian regime, which committed brutal crimes and severe violations against both peoples, resulting in thousands of victims and detainees, including more than 4,300 victims and over 3,000 Palestinian detainees.
On this occasion, we urgently call upon the international community and the United Nations, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), to contribute to the reconstruction of Syria and to provide the necessary support to Palestinian refugees who have suffered immensely during the years of brutal war.
Palestinian refugees in Syria deserve special attention and humanitarian support today. This is through: - Providing urgent relief assistance to meet the needs of refugees in terms of shelter, food, medicine, and healthcare. - Rehabilitating and reconstructing the camps, especially the Yarmouk, Handarat, and Daraa camps, and rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure. - We call on the authorities in the new Syria to adhere to the provisions of Law 260 of 1956, which stipulates the equality of Palestinian refugees with Syrian citizens in all rights and duties, and we call for the development of legislation that deepens the relationship between the two peoples on the foundations of freedom, dignity, and justice for which the revolution was fought. - The continued work of UNRWA in providing its services and expanding its work to include all Palestinians in Syria. - Providing urgent humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees to help them in the difficult circumstances the country is going through. We are inThe Action Group for Palestinians of Syria affirms that the issue of Palestinian refugees is a just humanitarian cause, and that supporting them is a duty for all free people in the world until they return to their homes in Palestine. We call on all the living forces in the world to stand by the Syrian people and provide all forms of support and assistance to them in this critical phase. We emphasize that we will remain, in the Action Group for Palestinians of Syria, the voice of Palestinians of Syria at all times.
