The Action Group issues the English version of its report on the situation of Yarmouk Camp during the year 2024 until the fall of the regime

 The Action Group | Syria

The Action Group for Palestinians in Syria issued the English version of its report on the situation of Yarmouk Camp for Palestinian refugees in Damascus, during the period extending from the first month of the year 2024 until the fall of the Syrian regime in December at the end of last year 2024.

The 77-page report addresses the situation of the camp from all aspects, legal, living, relief, service, security, educational, and medical, in addition to the file of reconstruction and restoration of public and private property, and a glimpse of the visits and activities carried out during the year.

The report reveals the continuation of the Syrian regime and its security and civil institutions with their timid policy to revive Yarmouk Camp, and their hesitation in creating an appropriate environment for the stability of Palestinian refugees at all health, educational, and social levels, especially the service level, as its residents were left to suffer from poor basic services that contribute to a large extent to preventing more residents from returning to the camp.

The report indicates that the situation in Yarmouk camp during 2024 is the best compared to the past six years, as it witnessed a daily increase in people returning to their homes, and the number of residents in the camp reached, according to unofficial sources, about 50 thousand people. Shops, clinics, law offices, and others continued to open, and it is noted that service conditions improved in the habitable areas, as life returned to them.
