Palestinian Refugee Iyad Abu Hamdan Allowed Access out of Southern Damascus for Urgent Treatment

The Syrian regime forces allowed the sick Palestinian refugee Iyad Abu Hamdan, to safely exit southern Damascus so as to undergo urgent medical checks and therapy at Jaffa Hospital, in Damascus.

The medical referral was carried out via a Red Crescent vehicle, in a move that was reportedly brokered by the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Over recent weeks, Hamdan’s health status has sharply deteriorated as his appeals for urgent medical referral to Damascus hospitals have gone unheeded by the Syrian government.

40-year-old Hamdan, diagnosed with clogged foot artilleries, said medics asked him to show up in the hospital every five days for urgent medical checks following a surgery he had undergone sometime earlier.
