UNRWA Starts Cash Aid Distribution for Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon

UNRWA said it has started cash aid distribution for Palestinian refugees from Syria.

The cash allowance covers the Months of May and June.

The grants will be transferred through OMT. The disbursed sum is 50 USD per every refugee and 100 USD for the two months.

Concerned refugees should present their identity documents, passports and/or a certificate of identification from the Palestine Embassy.

UNRWA said scanned documents and copies will not be accepted for aid delivery.

Palestinian refugees from Syria (PRS) in Lebanon are grappling with increased hardship and vulnerability, due to long-term displacement and difficult socio-economic conditions, coupled with the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to UNRWA, 87% of PRS live in poverty in the Lebanese territories.
