the Egyptian authorities issued a decision to ban entry of Palestinians coming from Syria and 4 Arab countries to Egypt. Egyptian media sources revealed that the authorities had decided to ban Palestinians coming from Syria, Sudan, Libya, Iraq, and Yemen from entering Egypt until further notice.

The Egyptian authorities did not explain the reasons for the decision, noting that Egypt used to prevent holders of the Palestinian Syrian document from entering its territory except with exceptions and under certain circumstances, as was the case during the era of the late Egyptian President "Mohamed Morsi" when they were allowed to enter without prior conditions.

A few days ago, the Egyptian authorities took a similar decision to stop the entry of Syrians holding European, American, and Canadian residencies to Egypt without obtaining security approval.

The decision includes stopping the entry of Syrians holding Schengen visas to Egypt and preventing the entry of Syrians, whether they are the husband or wife of an Egyptian man or woman, without security approval.

The new decisions come after the fall of the Syrian regime and the Syrian opposition taking power in Syria, while the Syria6 Palestinians in Egypt are living in tragic humanitarian conditions, represented by the deprivation of their most basic human rights, such as the right to residency, education, work, and health care.

Egypt had issued a decision regulating the asylum of foreigners in a step aimed at regulating the conditions of the increasing number of refugees in Egypt, according to what was announced, and aims to follow up on all refugee affairs and provide them with the necessary support.

Unofficial statistics indicate that the number of Syrian Palestinians in Egypt decreased from 6,000 refugees to about 3,500 people in 2018, including about 500 people who came to Egypt from Sudan - entering illegally ş- and were distributed across some Egyptian governorates such as Cairo, Alexandria, Damietta, and the eastern region.
