Fatah al-Intifada in Syria announced in a statement the dismissal of its Secretary-General, Ziad al-Saghir, from his position due to organizational violations.
The statement, issued in the name of the Central Committee of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah al-Intifada), stated that the committee convened on February 16, 2025, and unanimously decided to relieve Ziad Awda Al-Sagheer (Abu Hazem) of his duties as Secretary-General. The decision was attributed to the necessity of safeguarding the movement’s interests, as he was accused of committing organizational violations.
The statement was signed by Central Committee members:

• Tawfiq Al-Sakaji (Abu Al-Qasim)
• Musa Saeed Marghy (Abu Al-Saeed)
• Abdul-Ghani Gharib (Abu Fares)

The statement also announced the formation of an emergency body to manage the movement’s affairs, consisting of:
• Rafiq Armid
• Yasser Al-Masry
• Tawfiq Al-Sakaji
• Fayed Abu Subha
• Khaled Asaad Ali (Abu Anas) – a member of the Revolutionary Council (observer member)
In response to his dismissal, the Secretary-General of Fatah al-Intifada issued a statement freezing the work of the Central Committee until further notice.
Additionally, he announced the dismissal of Rafiq Armid (Abu Hani), responsible for the Lebanon region, and Yasser Al-Masry (Abu Omar), responsible for the Syria region, for allegedly violating the movement’s regulations.
He also declared his decision to relocate the General Secretariat headquarters to Lebanon, stating that the Central Committee will be reconstituted and responsibilities redistributed at a later time.
