The Action Group for Palestinians of Syria participated in the national and humanitarian event organized by the Detainees and Missing Persons of Saydnaya Prison Foundation on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in Damascus, under the title: "We Will Not Forget You... You Are Our Eternal Victory." The event coincided with the commemoration of Victory Day and International Human Rights Day.
The Group was represented at the event by Tawfiq Hujair, Director of its Damascus office, who emphasized the importance of highlighting the issue of detainees and missing persons, whether Palestinian or Syrian, as a national and humanitarian cause that must not be forgotten.
During the event, the Group interviewed Professor Hadi Haroun, Head of the Monitoring and Documentation Team at the Detainees and Missing Persons of Saydnaya Prison Foundation. Professor Haroun stressed that the Foundation does not differentiate between Palestinian and Syrian detainees, explaining that the documentation process targets former detainees and families of missing persons without discrimination.
He noted that the documentation process is based on detailed accounts of how the Saydnaya Prison administration treated the victims and is accompanied by available evidence and documents to enhance the credibility of the information provided.
The Action Group affirms its full support for the efforts being made in this matter and renews its call to the concerned parties to deal seriously and responsibly with the issue of detainees and missing persons and to achieve justice and dignity for the victims and their families.
