Palestinian Woman Wahiba Abu Jamous Forcibly Disappeared in Syrian Jail

Palestinian refugee Wahiba Muhy AlDeen Abu Jamous, from Yarmouk Camp, has been enduring a mysterious fate in Syrian government prisons for nearly five years.

Wahiba along with her husband and two kids were kidnapped by Syrian security forces at AlAridha checkpoint on November 13, 2015, on her way back from Lebanon to Syria.

The family took shelter in Ein AlHilweh camp, south of Lebanon, fleeing war-torn Syria, to which they attempted to return thorough illegal routes. Their condition and whereabouts have been unknown.

AGPS documented the secret detention of 1,780 Palestinian refugees in Syria’s state-run jails, including 108 women and dozens of minors.
